After suffering severe neck and spinal cord injuries in a rear-end collision, Robert J. Smith maintained his weight at 163 pounds for 10 years. However, he suffered a second rear-end collision and sustained severe back and additional spinal cord injuries. In the next 12 years, he gained more than 100 pounds to his maximum weight of 265.
The EXERCISE ME Documentary
This health and fitness film begins with a six-month weight loss challenge taken on national television in which Smith lost 73 pounds. Footage into 2017, includes a diet and nutrition plan overseen by Dr. Suzanne Gil of Calla Slimspa, interviews with health and fitness experts “Cowboy” Ryan Ehmann as seen on ABC’s Shark Tank, Forbes Riley and Detroit Tigers Strength and Conditioning Coach, Kevin Rand along with an L-39 fighter jet flight with pilot, Dr. Howard Chipman.
Had it not been for Smith suffering an unbelievable third rear-end collision that resulted in a total of 8 out of 23 discs bulging or herniating, the documentary would have been completed. However, lumbar spine surgery became necessary. This was Smith’s 12thsurgery. Between his inability to walk without the assistance of two canes for six-months prior to surgery and the six-months recovering from surgery, Smith regained 61 of the 73 pounds lost in the challenge.
Smith’s most recent medical setback necessitates a second challenge to be filmed. This second challenge provides businesses with the opportunity to step into the production and become heroes to the viewing audience. Your business also can highlight its expertise in sports performance by training a client who currently has very limited mobility and increasing his mobility to the point where he can participate in the Detroit Tigers Fantasy Baseball Camp.
